Nada Presents: Shedding / Mykola Haleta / Lee Noble / Pooch Karton

An evening of experimental electronic music featuring Louisville-based sonic explorer Shedding and acousmatic pattern virtuoso Mykola Haleta. Lee Noble’s folk influenced electronics and Pooch Karton’s splintered rhythms kick off the night.

Shedding works primarily with hardware synthesis, but has employed computer, harmonium, acoustic guitar, voice, field recordings, and sample collage to compose a varied, but deeply focused catalog of music. In their own words: “I’ve recently been interested in building layers of intentional chaos and exploring perceptions of order and the natural human tendency to seek and find patterns within that sound. There is a deliberate contrast between the controlled chaos simulating the natural world and the synthetic sounds I’m working with.” Shedding has released music on Traced Objects, Fluf, Superpang, and Obsolete Staircase, among others.

His visual vernacular stems from an entanglement of cybernetic systems, diatoms, apophenia (pareidolia), B-movie (raw) special effects, combinatorics (graph theory), Anthropod design, microchip design and crystallography. Textile patterning, graphic design and Op-Art converge with his personal lexicon of techniques, systems and processes which is evident across his sound, performance and visual work.
