I Heard Your Nighttime Song
Jesse Kaminsky
Nada 30
Nada presents “I Heard Your Nighttime Song,” the latest release by multidisciplinary artist Jesse Kaminsky. The release continues our ongoing series of object editions and marks our first release on vinyl. It sees Kaminsky crafting a singular vision across a variety of materials: sound, sculpture, and video.
“I Heard Your Nighttime Song” started as a contemplation of the phenomenal world, more specifically a meditation on the ‘umwelt’ or the world as experienced by a specific organism (in this case an unhatched chicken). This attention to the non-human and it’s inherent potentialities are foregrounded in Kaminsky’s creative practice utilyzing things and materials that exhibit “strong feelings” rather than traditional musical or artistic materials which he says “are made to yield completely to the artist’s vision.”
Available as twenty Nighttime Object editions, which includes a 12” vinyl and a unique biomorphic sculpture. Also available as a standalone 12” vinyl and digital album. His video for “Frost Flowers in the Resting Chamber” can be found on Nada’s Bandcamp page.
